  1. What an amusing combination of metaphors! A retro-leakage of “old school” video game pixels takes over the world. Oddly it emphasises how unrealistic those games were — an unrealistic set of symbols that made up a game (very like a traditional board game). Also very unlike recent games which blur the distinction between reality and virtuality. Do I detect some nostalgia here? For a time when heroes were real heroes, pixels were real pixels and reality was…. … well cleanly seperable.

    Pythagoras would have approved, since he thought the world was made of numbers.
